printables

I have a form that divides my day into sections so that I can look at it and see what I can do where I am. The sections are CALLS, ERRANDS, EMAILS & LETTERS, TO DISCUSS (with husband), HOME "to do's", etc. This is daily and i transfer what doesn't get done to another sheet the next day, but it usually ends up lasting me a week with adding and scratching out, etc.

Printable Budgets for College Students and other ideas

Hey! I just discovered your website and I think that it is absolutely amazing! I just wanted to give you a couple of ideas for free printables. Being a college student, I know that I would love to have a budget (whether weekly, montly, yearly, or over four years, or all) for the average college student. Also, I think it would be cool to have first time dorm/apartment checklists, grocery lists, and after graduation planners for college students. And study abroad/away checklists and first time ...

Do you like plain printables, or do you prefer something with style?

I'm known for my plain printables, all function and not fancy. But lately I've been thinking about creating some decorative versions of printables. Which do you prefer?

(If you have any specific ideas or preferences, PLEASE tell me about them.)

What makes you happy?

My philosophy is ever evolving. A key feature in my life was a period

in which I told everyone that I was my own god, that I made everything

happen in my life. It was perhaps a lingering side effect of being a

teenager, but the cool thing is that the positive attitude and self

empowerment certainly went a long way to aiding me in grasping

opportunities and making the best of them. More recently, my family and

I have been discussing some not too dissimilar veins of thought, such

as ...

Well local around these parts anyway... maybe not yours. My name's

Jason and I found Kristen's site a long time ago in a land far, far

away, and I really appreciated what she was doing with all of her

accumulated knowledge, so I've been around ever since. I've let

computers consume a lot of my life but I make sure the people around me

consume the rest. And then I add in another chunk of entertainment and

work and hobbies and all that other stuff, and I guess it adds up to

150%, ...

Being Big (and Tall)

(Abbreviated version...)

Start weight 223lbs on 1/14/08

Goal weight 201lbs on 3/7/08

BMR is approximately 2200 lbs. Kristen mentioned that she wouldn't go below BMR as daily intake as it's possible your body will enter starvation mode. Where can I find more information on this?

According to FitDay, I burn ~3200 calories including my "lifestyle" of sedentary office work. I go to the gym several times a week which adds 500 calories to that. If I assume 3 days a week, then I'm ...

Question about Fantasy Writing

This is P.J. I have a question about Fantasy Stories. I've noticed with Lord of the Rings, there is a quest. To get rid of the Ring of Power. Yet, with Star Wars and Harry Potter, there doesn't seem to be a quest at all. And yet, those two stories are considered to be fantasy adventure despite that Star Wars is a sci-fi. I don't understand this with those two stories, if Fantasy stories are always suppossed to have a quest in them. Because I didn't see that with both Star Wars and Harry Potter ...

How to Study the Art of Writing

My buddy PJ has been wondering how to study writing for breaking into the writing biz. I'm hoping my fellow writers will be able to help him out. If you've got a suggestion for him (and other new writers), please share it.

Here's my suggestion...

Start writing. You don't learn how to walk by studying the science of walking. You have to get up and try for yourself. And don't throw out your first attempts at writing. Keep them, so in the future you can look back at where you started and ...

argh user error + forums = data loss

I was typing up an entry about losing weight, and I accidentally pressed "back" on my mouse... normally this might not be a problem, but with this WYSIWYG interface, and using Firefox, when I pressed "forward" all that I had written was gone. I'm not sure there's an easy fix, but whenever this sort of thing happens, I feel compelled to voice my complaint, because that sort of "content" loss is the most frustrating thing for me.

Hey Everybody! I'm Kristen, creator of Kristen's Guide

I originally created Kristen's Guide because I wanted a place where I could store all my notebooks, journals, etc. filled with all of the useful ideas and lists that I had accumulated during my life. It needed to put them all in something that didn't take up much room (decluttering), didn't take long to find things (time saving), and could be accessed anywhere (like when I was over at a friend's house fixing their computer and needed to remember the long list of free software I wanted to install ...
